Problem

More than 28 million school-age children have parents who work outside the home, according to the U.S. Department of Education. An estimated 5 million to 7 million return to an empty home after school. Children need safe places to go after school, where they can continue to learn and develop. Mercy Housing's after-school programs provide that safe place.
