Problem

In too many cases, the people most affected by these HIV/AIDS-related human rights abuses are further marginalized by isolation from the rest of the world. They may have poor access to the Internet or lack the resources to attend conferences where they could and should be part of policy-making discussions. Particularly in places where NGOs have been repressed, locally organized workshops are one of the only means to create networks and share information.

Your gift will help the Legal Network respond to frequent requests from HIV/AIDS and human rights organizations to conduct workshops, testify to legislators, develop advocacy strategies, or provide on-the-ground technical support for the difficult work of building legal protections for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Our in-person work with front-line organizations in China, Russia, countries of the former Soviet Union, parts of sub-Saharan Africa, Indonesia and elsewhere has been possible only when resources have been mobilized for international travel. With your support, more people in more countries could benefit from our assistance.
